TIMES AND VIEWS

by Jim Cleveland

(Poetry in volumes: Lyrical Spirit, Celestial Songbook 1 and 2 at www.jimclevelandauthor.com)

When you get a little older

Your life comes back in gushes

Good and bad, pleasing or sad

Memories come on in rushes.

An aura of many lives and their fatalities,

Profound events and many banalities

Comprise our course, our compass force

Precise some times or just generalities

When you think a little younger

Your life flows in minute urgencies

Day by day, nights in array

Hours of inquisitive searches

An aura of past times, here but out of sight

Waiting in the wings of memories bright

Where actors read their lines left and right

Searching for truth, boldly forsooth, with bite

When you think that you’re just right where you are

A comfortable place of power by your fire

You can see the world in place, no times you would erase

And accept your soul that stands upon your pyre.

An aura of goodness will lift you from mortal life

A heavenly father will bring you home o’er the strife

In faith you know it’s true, the soul growth plan for you

With the end comes a fresh beginning with a higher view.
